The business has also developed a range of successful products including themed Outdoor Parties, workshops or outings for schools, nurseries and community groups and organising and facilitating larger events at various venues. This includes the widely popular Toddler Adventure session, for 2- 5 year olds, new Waddle Toddle sessions, suitable for one and two year olds and the recently launched Senior Moments Project for those 50+. Earthtime offers a range of creative services, all of which are nature based and are environmentally themed. All Earthtime’s work aims to inspire and generate enthusiasm for nature and the outdoors and a respect for the earth’s resources.Įarthtime was founded and launched in early 2011 as a partnership by Deborah Hockney and Laura Russell, and now has a strong team of volunteers and an extensive customer network around Moray and beyond. Natalie Campbell, Earthtime project leader, said: "The reopening of both our nurseries has only been possible due to the incredible response we have received from a recent appeal for volunteers. The nursery's practitioners have also kept up contact with registered families during lockdown with daily bedtime stories and activities through social media. The key workers' childcare hub at Duffus has been working with an average of 12 children daily, who nursery staff say have settled in well to learning in the woodland. Earthtime's Forest School nurseries at Duffus and Elgin are reopening after new guidance from the Scottish Government. The pandemic has thrown into focus the benefits of the outdoor learning and play model practised at Earthtime as Scotland looks at ways forward for post-lockdown schooling.Įarthtime opened its Cooper Park off-shoot in January this year with funding and support from Thrive Outdoors, with the specific aim to cater for more vulnerable families, offering a central location, waterproof clothing, footwear and daily snacks without charge.
